Simon Says................Make your Own Background papers

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the  STAMPtember® Stamp-It Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND

there are so many ways to make your own backgrounds, using stencils, splattering, gelli plate printing etc
We are showcasing GELATOS made by FABER-CASTELL this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

This card was very time consuming, I spent hours trying to find different ways of using the Gelatos.
This card is the one I liked the most - this used the Faber-Castell Designing with Gelatos Kit....I started off using the Gesso a thin layer on the watercolored paper and then stamped the Hero Arts Elegant Brocade stamp, heat and embossed it then . The Gelatos are spritz with water and rubbed randomly one the page and then rubbed with my finger to blend it all. I didn't have ribbon the exact colours so I experimented by inking the Tim Hoptz Crinkled Ribbon - lots of spritzing and blending it turned out pretty well.....from then I decided to try colouring a flower with the Gelatos. I use a white Prima White paper rose - to colour this I used mixing the Gelatos with water and used a brush gently - again happy with the result!!
I finished the card with MFT Designer Labels and Simon Says Thinking of You Die

I made a second card trying to use more and stronger colours. I use the same method as previously but also mixing the colours - mainly a purple shade - they are OK but not must as I wanted - I must buy a purple-lilac Gelato.  I use another Hero Arts stamp (Flower Dot Pattern - retired I think). The colours did turn out stronger than I wanted so I used Gesso over the stronger parts to lighten them.  The Cardstock is from Simon Says Sweet Treats Set - added a Simon Says Medium Tag Die and some American Crafts Solid atin Ribbon

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting
