HAPPY NEW YEAR !! WISHING YOU ALL THE VERY BEST FOR 2014 !!
This week the challenge is
SOMETHING NEW
New Year, New Job, New Baby, New Crafty Stash, New Home, Wedding ( new life) Retirement ( new life) ,, etc ,,,,
We are showcasing My Favorite Things Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used :-)
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!
I decided to make a couple of my 'SOMETHING NEW' a calender - actually I made two, one for my desk and one for the kitchen.
I have visited every shop available that sells calenders to find one suitable -NO!!! They have long, thin onea, wide ones all attached to images, I did find one 'page a day' - they were about 2/3 inches thick and had tatty paper about fit to wiping the floor and nothing else. The answer was - make your own - I just wish it hadn't taken forever!!!!!
Hero Arts Leafy Vines stamp - I've had it for ages and thounh

Materials and Tools
Medium: Simon Says Stamp White Cardstock 120lb base, Hero Arts Soft Pool Aqua and Stone Wash, Colorbox Frost White Ink
Tools: Martha Stewart Scoring Board, Tonic Studio Guillotine/Paper Trimmer, Pro Arts Glue Glider, Fiskars - Stamp Press, Ranger Heat Craft Tool
I made a hanging calender for this one, used the Hero Arts Leafy Vines again - this time used Neenah Desert Storm, embossed it and tried coloured it with Copics - this was a little difficult and fiddling but I do like the result.
I use layers with the MFT Scalloped and then added a little envelope to added he calender pages until I can find one to buy, meanwhile I cut one up - the only one found the right size - sadly it was red!!!
